Activity
A 10-mile linear walk in the pretty Hampshire countryside from Winchfield to Hook. Easy mostly flat terrain along country paths and some road. We will walk along a quiet country section of the Basingstoke Canal and the Greywell Wetlands. We stop for lunch at the pretty village of Odiham, and visit the ruin of King John's Odiham Castle (free entry). Thought to have been where he spent the night before travelling to Runnymede to add his seal to Magna Carta. RAF Odiham is the main base of the Chinook heavy-lift helicopters, and they are often seen 'thudding' across the sky.
Refreshments
Lunch stop at Odiham, with cafe, pub, toilet and shop options. No other refreshment or toilet facilities on the route.
