Activity
We are visiting Winchester for a 5-mile town walk followed by the famous Christmas Market. The walk will take in all the historic quarters of this ancient city, once the Saxon capital of England. The remains of the castle and the medieval Great Hall, plus Water Mill will be visited plus a riverside walk to the viewpoint allowing views across the valley. The Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market is recognised as one of the best in Europe, inspired by the traditional German Christmas markets. After dusk the market place is lit up with festive lighting, the sound of Christmas carols and the aroma of mulled wine and cinnamon drifting in the air. Visitors will be transported into a festive setting at this thousand year-old cathedral.
