Activity
This linear 8-mile walk follows the Willow Tree Trail from North Harrow to Ickenham. Route is mostly flat, through fields and hedgerows, much of it untouched natural growth since ancient times. This gives an impression of what many local areas were like at the turn of the last century. We'll see exotic trees in Yeading Brook Open Space, Bridgewater Road Open Space and Stafford Road Open Space. Passes behind RAF Northolt which is used by the Air Force, the Royal Family and visiting heads of state. Along the route, we'll follow the signs and waymark posts with the willow leaves and catkin symbol of Willow Tree Walk. Much of the way we'll be following the gentle flowing Yeading Brook. We'll end at the eerie Ickenham marshes which were unproductive areas for grazing in the 17th and 18th Century. Option to leave walk at Ruislip Gardens Station.
