Activity
This 7-mile circular walk crosses Hampstead Heath and takes in the village and surroundings. From Finchley Road station we make our way through side streets passing some very impressive buildings old and new. Keep a look out for blue plaques! Then we continue towards the famous Hampstead Heath, passing the swimming lakes (where more than ducks are seen swimming), following a gradual steady climb to Parliament Hill. We will then take in the spectacular vast views over London. We then head towards Kenwood House. Here we shall stop for lunch: café, shop and picnic tables. Option to visit the house itself and its impressive art gallery (free to English Heritage members). Our walk continues across the Heath and through Hampstead High Road (lots of cafes and pubs) back to the start. Option to join leaders at pub near station after the walk.
Refreshments
Cafes and shops on route. Pub at end. Option to bring packed lunch.
