I joined HAWOG after I retired and this gave me an opportunity to meet new people and get fitter. I feel lucky that I joined such a friendly group and it has offered me a great deal.

I was looking for a walking group (to maintain fitness) since I stopped running due to knee issues. HAWOG was recommended by a friend and I've attended several walks local and nationally. The value for money is fantastic and I've met some wonderful people on the walks.

I joined HAWOG last year having moved to the area from Wales. I have only done a few walks, but each one has been really enjoyable and has helped me piece together a 'map' of my new area. Everyone is so friendly and interesting, I'm looking forward to many more events in the future.

I have been in the group for many years and have seen so much of the UK I would never have seen. I have also made friends for life. The group has made a huge positive impact on me and my family.

When my husband passed away I was looking for a group where I could meet and enjoy other peoples' company. HAWOG has a lot to offer - walks, camping, weekends away and social events. They are a very welcoming and friendly group with some amazing event organisers. A big thank you to you all in providing an outlet to those who enjoy socialising.

I joined HAWOG a very long time ago, it must be 15 years or so. I think it is one of the best things I have done in my life. I have seen a lot of areas in the UK, have met some great people and had some lovely times walking and socialising on weekends away. I am as fit, if not fitter than I was when I joined, and hope to continue for many more years. Because of HAWOG my husband and I became volunteers for the small volunteer-run hostels and they were also some of the best experiences. Thank you HAWOG.

We joined HAWOG as a couple in late 2021 after being recommended to the group when our now adult children had flown the nest. Time for us to get out and explore life outside of our family life and we've never looked back. We have loved the variety of walks and weekends away from camping to hostelling, from London walks to day walks further afield. The committee work hard to keep the group programme varied and enjoyable for everyone and we've made some great friends along the way. We have been and seen places with the group we would never thought of going to, every one of them with its own highlight for us. Thank you to everyone who is helping to create fabulous memories for us in our new found extended family as well as supporting us to be confident in leading our own walks. We are truly grateful we have you all sharing our journey along the way.

I joined HAWOG a few years ago. Already a member of several other groups, I was looking for something more and HAWOG was the answer. I thoroughly enjoyed walking with HAWOG members and soon realised how easy going and friendly everyone was. Soon I was spreading the word and began to recruit members. This led me to become a walk leader and later a member of the committee, now encouraging and supporting new leaders. I thoroughly enjoy the variety of events on the programme. Thank you HAWOG.

I've gone on several weekends away with HAWOG and seen parts of the country that would be difficult to access as a single traveller. From Cornwall to Whitby and beyond I've always found the company to be welcoming, the leader's knowledge wide and the scenery amazing!

HAWOG has given me the opportunity to meet new people and take part in different activities that I would never have done otherwise.
