Activity
A 10.5-mile circular walk with gentle gradients. A walk through Verulamium Park is followed by a lengthy but easy ascent to Childwick Green and Harpenden Common. The route then descends back into the Ver valley and a walk through the Gorhambury Estate. The walk includes fine views across the valley.
Refreshments
A Sunday market at the start of the walk offers stalls with cuisine from all over the world and the opportunity to grab a hot drink. The walk finishes near St. Albans Cathedral where there is a cafe. Packed lunch on route.
Travel
Free on road parking in St. Albans. West Midland trains from Harrow and Wealdstone to St Albans Abbey Station, via Watford Junction. Also Thameslink to St. Albans City Station. 10-minute walk from both stations to start point.
