Activity
The aim of this 5-mile circular walk is to explore the most scenic parts of the local countryside with an opportunity for everyone to create a sketch of the views at the highest points. The walk will take in the hills, woods and meadows around Harrow Hill, Northwick Park and Sudbury Hill. We will pass through playing fields and parts of the famous Harrow Public School extensive sports areas. At the highest point we will come to a stopping point on the top of the hill. This will be our location for everyone to find their own drawing spot and attempt a sketch. Leader will guide and assist the participants accordingly. Picnic lunch during this period as best viewpoint. Please bring along basic art materials eg A3 or A4 sized paper, as well as dry mediums (graphite pencils, crayons, chalk, pens, charcoal etc.), plus something to lean your paper on. Option to bring picnic mat for sketching and picnic break. Walk continues through ancient woodlands and meadows with cattle introduced for grazing purposes. We end at a pub or tea shop where everyone can exhibit their sketches and compare notes.
