Activity
This 7 mile linear walk takes in National Trust parks, gardens and the hidden countryside around the Grand Union Canal. From Osterley station we will have a quick look at the quaint Osterley Bookshop (the original station house). We will then traverse Osterley Park passing the Palladian masterpiece of Robert Adams and the historic Stables Cafe. We will cross the M4 via the bridge and head through Norwood Green and into Southall where we will see two temples: the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara (the largest Sikh temple outside India) and the Vishwa Hindu Mandir. There will be opportunity to have lunch in Southall. We will return via Glade Lane canalside park, walking along the Grand Union Canal seeing the unique Three Bridges and the picturesque lock cottages. We end the walk at Boston Manor station, one stop from the starting point. The route is fairly flat, along roads, footpaths and tow paths.
Event is restricted to 12 participants due to current government guidance. This is based on 2 separate groups of up to 6 participants each, the second group having an assistant leader and following the first group at a short distance. Please book your place using Book Now button below.
