Activity
Leisurely 5-mile walk around the grounds, greenhouses and other buildings of beautiful Kew Gardens and Kew village. Walk organiser will lead the walk and explain the history of the botanic gardens, which contain the largest collection of living plants in the world. We will stroll along a treetop walkway 18m above ground, and discover fascinating exotic plants, as well as 'daily staples', like tea, coffee and cocoa. We'll also visit Queen Charlotte's cottage, a Japanese gateway and country house, and an art gallery of botanical paintings. This walk coincides with the Orchid Festival, a magnificent display of 3000 orchids native to China in one of the greenhouses. Please book the 2:30pm slot via the ticketing link below, at no extra cost. We suggest booking your Garden Entry ticket online in advance to avoid queuing at the gate. After the tour of Kew Gardens, we will explore the riverside of Kew village and its Georgian parish church in the village green. After the walk there is a wide choice of pubs and tea rooms in Kew village.
