Activity
This 11-mile linear walk (no hills) takes in the Thames Path, Teddington, Bushy Park and free entrance to all of Hampton Court Gardens (a rare opportunity). The walk initially follows the Thames Path to Teddington Lock, touches on Teddington life in the High Street, before heading into Bushy Park's Woodland Gardens (a beautiful oasis of vibrant plants, towering trees and shimmering waterways). Then onto Hampton Court via Sir Christopher Wren's Chestnut Avenue and Diana Fountain (1637). Today, Hampton Court has its entire gardens open for free, including The Great Vine and Mantegna Collection (Triumphs of Caesar). Fabulous! Last leg is Thames Path to Kingston, ending at All Saints Church (where they crowned the Saxon Kings) and the historic town square. Note dogs are not allowed in some gardens; walkers with dogs can avoid these sections and meet us later. Short cut option from Hampton Court.
Refreshments
Cafe at start. Pubs and cafes on route. We plan a picnic at Bushy Park (shops on way). Cafe and pub at end.
