Activity

A 7 mile walk along the Thames Path, through Hampton Court and Bushy Parks, including Hampton Court Palace, and finishing with a vintage festival around the Diana Fountain. We start from Kingston station and follow the Thames Path around Hampton Court Park. At the Palace views of the exterior, the courtyard and the public gardens are all accessible for free including the famous maze. There may be views of some of the flower displays for the Hampton Court Flower Show which starts the day after our visit. We will continue into Bushy Park which is the adjoining Royal Park with beautiful plantations in bloom plus deer herds grazing on the heathland. Will visit the little known Eisenhower memorial (Bushy Park was the HQ for Allied forces preparing for D-Day). Our walk will end at the Diana Fountain where there is a vintage music and vehicle festival (40s/50s theme) with jive and swing bands offering dance lessons and performances.
