Activity
Enchanting circular 8-mile walk from Theydon Bois through the historic and famous Epping Forest. Route through dense woodland with some of the oldest trees in the country and woodland glades. Unspoilt forest passing Ambresbury Banks Fort built circa 500 BC. Local legend claims this as location of Boudicca's last stand. Picnic lunch (weather permitting) in woodland followed by stop on Bell Common at Forest Gate Inn. We then head back across open Essex countryside with great views. Wear suitable footwear and appropriate clothing; uneven ground due to tree roots in woodland.
