Activity

This easy 12-mile cycle ride takes in the Grand Union Canal, a Jacobean manor, the BEAT festival and Creative Mile Brentford Art Festival. After coffee at Northala we cycle to a local church where a member is presenting her art exhibition. We then join the Grand Union Canal and head south to venues taking part in the Borough of England Art Trail (BEAT). Featured venues include the Green Quarter, the new cultural hub at Southall Gasworks development. We will visit Boston Manor House, reopened last year after lavish restoration. We then reach the new Brentford Project with its rebuilding of the riverside development. Today is the Creative Mile Art Festival with many venues having art exhibitions plus live music and pop-up cafes. We will explore Johnson's Island (only open once a year) which is full of artist studios on a tiny hidden island. Ride returns via Brent Valley Cycle route. Ride suitable for all cycles, no hills on route.
