Activity
An 8-mile circular loop through rural West Hertfordshire starting from Chipperfield Common, through Scatterdells Wood, Kings Langley village and a section of the Grand Union Canal. The walk goes through the beautiful, quiet Chilterns countryside, using well established footpaths and includes the autumnal splendour of Scatterdells Wood before reaching Kings Langley Common for a short picnic lunch break. We then head down to Kings Langley High Street and its trendy cafes and tea shops for a quick cuppa and piece of cake, before venturing along a beautiful section of the Grand Union Canal, lined with luxurious houses and apartments. Leaving the canal we make a short stop at Wayside Farm Shop that sells raw milk, before heading back to Chipperfield through pastures, with red kites soaring overhead. The terrain is comfortable with superb views, incorporating woods and open farmland with just a couple of easy inclines.
