Activity
We are taking the Javelin railway to Kent for an exhilarating coastal walk from Broadstairs to Ramsgate ending at the fabulous Royal Victorian Pavilion. The 6-mile walk starts at Broadstairs with a stroll around the gardens and promenade of this charming town. We can admire Charles Dickens' mansion on the hill. We walk around Viking Bay beach and take the high-level clifftop walk south. At Dumpton Gap we will stop at the secluded beach, option to bring costumes for a swim. We will have our picnic on the beach, cafe and ice cream shops at this point. Our walk then climbs to the elegant clifftop promenade with panoramic views along the coast and across to France. At Ramsgate we descend to the impressive marina and will explore this historic resort. Option to do a tour of the Ramsgate Tunnels, one of the largest wartime fortifications in England. We end at the Royal Victorian Pavilion with its balcony terrace overlooking the beach.
