Perivale Wood is owned by the Selborne Society, which is a Natural History organisation. It is kept locked for most of the year but on one day each year it is open to the public, to coincide, hopefully, with the appearance of bluebells. This event is always well attended and, as well as walking the trail through the reserve, one can see stalls of clubs with an interest in nature and also enjoy tea and cakes. Perivale is on Central line and several buses pass through. Limited free car parking in area. Afterwards, we will walk through Horsenden Woods and climb to the summit for views over London. Then will walk to the Ballot Box pub on the other side of Horsenden Hill for late lunch and drinks. Total distance 5 miles including walk back to station. No dogs are allowed in Perivale Wood.
