Activities

We have booked dorms at YHA Bridges, one of the original youth hostels in the UK. Bridges is in the heart of the excellent walking country of the Shropshire Hills. Saturday: 12 mile walk including Shropshire Way long distance path. Will include the impressive heathland plateau of the Long Mynd with stunning views from the summit. Sunday: 6-8 mile walk in countryside, may include the distinctive quartzite hills of Stiperstones. Also option to visit some of the several National Trust gardens and castles nearby. Plus historic town of Shrewsbury with castle, abbey and Tudor streets on route

Refreshments

Breakfast, lunch and dinners available at hostel. Pub next to hostel which serves food. Self catering facilities at hostel.

Travel

From north west London, M40 to Birmingham, M42 north, M6 north, M5 north, M54 west past Telford, A5 west follow south of Shrewsbury to A49 south, after few miles take right towards Exford Green, follow road south into Shropshire Hills, at Ratlinghope junction look for YHA sign and / or Bridges pub and stop. Hostel and pub are next door to each other. Nearest rail station Church Stretton (5 miles away).
