This 20 mile cycle ride takes in Sustrans route 1 from Chelmsford to Witham via Maldon, mostly on quiet lanes through the level scenic countryside of rural Essex. We will cycle through picturesque villages and explore the historic port of Maldon. This town has lots of historic buildings and a quayside promenade full of yachts and sailing barges. We will find a quayside pub or cafe for lunch. On our route back we stop at the unique church of Little Braxted with its amazing interiors. Ride suitable for all cycles.

Travel
Greater Anglia trains from Liverpool Street to Chelmsford. Return from Witham; buy return to Witham. Free parking near both stations, just 1 stop if driving to start. Elizabeth line or Metropolitan line to Liverpool Street. Cycles can be taken on all lines.
