Activity
This 8 mile walk takes in a Roman town, ferry ride across Chichester harbour, sailing village and one of the best beaches on the south coast. Our first destination is Bosham, a charming sailing port with a Saxon church, quay and alleyways full of old inns and cottages. Bosham was the location of Canute's episode with the tide. We walk around the coast and catch the ferry across Chichester Harbour to West Itchenor, another delightful sailing village with pubs and cafes. After lunch there we continue around the peninsula coastal path to West Wittering beach. This huge expanse of golden sands has great views along the coast to South Downs and Isle of Wight. We then take bus to the cathedral city of Chichester for a short tour of the city walls and cathedral before trains back to London.
