Activity
8-mile circular walk through the diverse countryside of south-west Hertfordshire and rural Harefield. From the Aquadrome café the walk heads north on the Grand Union Canal for a short distance to Batchworth Lock. We then climb across Batchworth Heath to the famous Moor Park Golf Course. We will pass the magnificent Grade 1 listed 18th century Moor Park House on the way. Emerging at Batchworth Heath, near Ye Olde Greene Manne pub, we join the London Loop and go through the historic Bishop's Wood Country Park to the Rose and Crown pub at Woodcock Hill for a short pub stop. Following the pub visit, we continue along the Loop to take our picnic lunch break in beautiful open countryside, before arriving at the excellent Mitchell's Village Kitchen for afternoon tea or ice cream break. Route joins the Hillingdon Trail to go through Park Wood before following Colne Valley to Springfield Lock, where we rejoin the canal towpath for our walk back to the start point at the Aquadrome.
