Activity

A circular walk of around 10 miles. Start at Cowleaze Wood, circle the Wormsley Park estate through woods and open meadows. Make our way through the picturesque beeches of Shotridge Wood to Christmas Common and a pub stop. We will stop for packed lunch before or shortly after the pub. Then we wind our way around Watlington Hill and outstanding views of the countryside, join the Ridgeway then ascend the path back to Cowleaze Wood. It's a generally moderate walk but with 2 or 3 fairly steep hills involved. Decent level of fitness required.

Refreshments

Bring a packed lunch. Tim will pick a spot for lunch with outstanding views. There'll also be a pub stop at 'The Fox and Hounds' in Christmas Common.

Travel

Take the M40, come off at Junction 5 for Stokenchurch. Turn RIGHT at road junction, after 200 hundred metres there is a bend in the road with a side turning. Take this LEFT turn and, with a distinctive radio tower on your left, you will see a sign for Christmas Common. Take this road LEFT and after a mile and a half, you will come to Cowleaze Wood on your left.
