This 6 mile walk in the garden of England is a new one for the group. We will be walking around this beautiful castle which has been a Norman stronghold; the private property of six of England's medieval queens; a palace used by Henry VIII and his first wife Catherine of Aragon; a Jacobean country house; a Georgian mansion; an elegant early 20th century retreat for the influential and famous; and in the 21st century, it has become one of the most visited historic buildings in Britain. We will also visit the beautiful gardens which include the fabulous Lady Baillie Mediterranean garden and terraces. There are also woodlands, parklands and a large lake we can discover through a leisurely stroll. Walk starts from Hollingbourne station and passes through the historic village of Eyhorne Street. Option for drivers to go direct to Castle, contact organiser for details.
