Treasure Hunt in Hertford

Sun Jun 16th

Free to members and prospective members, £6 supplement for attendees from Meetup

Our next instalment of walks with treasure hunts will be in the scenic Hertfordshire countryside between the historic town of Hertford and Welwyn Garden City. The walk will be around 6 miles in length and will be very relaxing with minimal hills. We always walk in wonderful woods and green fields. Our aim is to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and have a good walk in the English countryside. We also incorporate geocaching and recommend you download the free app called Geocaching to help us all find some treasure. We are starting at The White Horse in the picturesque hamlet of Hertingfordbury (was fictionalised by Jane Austen as Longbourne in Pride and Prejudice). We will be doing a part of the Cole Green Way walk which is a sustrans cycle path which runs east-west from the eastern edge of Welwyn Garden City to Hertford. The disused railway station of Cole Green is now a picnic spot on the Cole Green Way. This is where we will be having a pub lunch.

Pub half way round for lunch and then of course pub at the end
