Activity
This 17 mile tour takes in the heaths, parklands and highest points of Hampstead and Alexandra Palace. We start by cycling across Hampstead Heath, passing the famous outdoor pools and Kenwood House. We head into Golders Hill Park before picking up Sandy Lane to take us to Mount Tyndal. We then head east through the heathland towards the nature reserve that is the Highgate Cemetery. After a tour of the Cemetery and Waterlow Park our destination becomes Alexandra Park and Palace where we can climb to the terrace for stunning views over all of London. The route continues to Highgate Wood, we pick up Brook Path to Little Wood and Big Wood before returning to Hampstead Heath via the Extension and across the viaduct to Parliament Hill and Gospel Oak and the end of the journey. Route involves several hills and is mostly on quiet lanes and well surfaced cycle tracks.
