Activity
Enchanting circular 8 mile walk from Theydon Bois through the historic and famous Epping Forest. A new walk for the group, passing Birch Hall, the Deer Sanctuary, on undulating terrain with vast views. Route through dense woodland with some of the oldest trees in the country and woodland glades. Unspoilt forest passing Ambresbury Banks Fort built circa 500 BC. Local legend claims this as location of Boudicca's last stand. Picnic lunch in woodland followed by stop on Bell Common at Forest Gate Inn and specialist coffee at Perky Blenders. We then head back across open Essex countryside with great views. Wear suitable footwear, uneven ground due to tree roots.
