Sat May 22nd
This 9 mile walk takes in Constable Country, the Stour Valley on Essex / Suffolk borders where Constable lived and painted many of his greatest works. The walk takes in several villages and hamlets, all unspoilt and full of historic churches and houses. The farmhouses feature the salmon pink colours typical of Suffolk. We will stop for lunch at the prosperous wool town of Dedham, and will explore this delightful town of independent shops and art galleries. East Bergholt has a unique church with its "bell cage" as the tower was never completed. At Flatford we can see the location of "Hay Wain" and admire the famous mill with the riverside tea gardens.
Event is restricted to 12 participants due to current government guidance. This is based on 2 separate groups of up to 6 participants each, the second group having an assistant leader and following the first group at a short distance. Please book your place using Book Now button below.
