An 8 mile circular walk that takes us across both sides of the Hog's Back in Surrey with a picturesque village at each end, plenty of variety with interesting and attractive country along the way, and also various pubs along the route. As well as the magnificent views from the ridge along the top of the Hog's Back, a Saxon church is on the route. We will also see Wanborough Manor, a medieval gem built in the 1500s, which was frequented by royalty and was also used to train future agents for the Special Operations Executive during WWII. The terrain is mainly good surfaced tracks but there may well be one or two muddy paths.
Event is restricted to 12 participants due to current government guidance. This is based on 2 separate groups of up to 6 participants each, the second group having an assistant leader and following the first group at a short distance. Please book your place using Book Now button below.
Bring packed lunch. Option to stop at pub for refreshments and lunch along the route.
Wanborough is on main line from Clapham Junction and Waterloo. Free parking near station.
