Activity
An easy 7-mile linear Friday amble in suburban Metroland, having a chat and appreciating the green urban spaces. The route will be mostly along the Celandine Way from Ruislip to Uxbridge. May be muddy in parts. We start at King College Fields and then reach the Manor Farm site. We then follow the Pinn through hidden parts of Ruislip to reach the golf course. Look out for kingfishers and grey wagtails feeding. Diversion to pass around HS2 viaduct complex. We rejoin the Pinn to pass through Ickenham conservation area and Swakeleys Park. Can view the impressive Jacobean manor. Route then crosses A40 to continue through Hillingdon open spaces and then quiet lanes to Uxbridge. Lots of places to have lunch before tube back to start.
