Activities

Camping in Swanage on Carnival Weekend.

There will be a 10 mile walk on Saturday, at 10:00am prompt from the campsite to Corfe Castle on the South West Coast Path, taking in some of the most breathtaking views on the south coast, with the option of a steam train ride back to Swanage. On Saturday evening we will organise a barbecue, then an option to go on to the live music in town on Sandpits Field, the official carnival marquee. Also a fantastic firework display at around 9:30pm which can be seen from the campsite as well as the town.

On Sunday starting at 10:00am there will be a bike ride to Old Harry Rocks and Studland Beaches. Bike hire is available locally, please contact Nick to if you need to hire a bike by the beginning of July to ensure availability. Sunday afternoon will be the famous Procession, one of the highlights of the Swanage Carnival, with entertainment to follow in Sandpits Field.

On Monday, for those wishing to extend the weekend, there will be a walking treasure hunt organised by the excellent Swanage Regatta Committee which takes around 2 hours.

Refreshments

Self-catering on site. Pub 5 minutes walk from site. A barbecue is planned for Saturday night.

Travel

Car share via forum. Regular trains to Wareham from Waterloo then onto Swanage via Norden.
