An 11 mile circular walk from the village of Hambleden. We make our way through two meadows, then rise through the beechwoods and emerge to traverse a series of fields with views of the surrounding countryside. We descend steeply to the hamlet of Stonor then turn into the delightful Stonor deer park where, with views of the estate, we will have a packed lunch. We continue through mixed woodland, making our way across open fields to acres of beech and descending to Hambleden where there is an added option of drinks at the pub. No muddy terrain expected unless there is a period of heavy rain. No excessive ascents.
Please bring a packed lunch which will be consumed at a vantage point in Stonor Park. If weather is too inclement to sit, the park has a cafe which can also be used as a toilet stop. The Stag and Huntsmen pub in Hambleden is ideal for post-walk drinks.
Take the M40 and come off at junction 4 for Marlow. Take the turn off for Marlow, drive straight through town on the A4155, through Medmenham till you turn off for Hambleden. Follow the road for 1 mile, turn right into the village and park in the free car park behind the pub. Note: there is no public transport to the village. Tim can take three passengers from Ealing area.
