A 9 mile walk taking in the open countryside of Barnet between the old village centres of Mill Hill and Totteridge. We join the the Dollis Valley Way, following the winding brook all the way through to the scenic village of Totteridge, stopping at the Orange Tree pub for lunch. There are extensive views over North London from this high point. After refuelling, we set off down across the fields, following the trail around the lake and across to Finchley Nurseries garden centre. After passing the Mill Hill Public School (impressive neo-classical Georgian mansion) we head back to the station. Easy walking, a bit of road but mainly off road with gradual ascent.
Orange Tree pub. Can bring packed lunch as picnic benches next to pub.
Tube to Mill Hill East. Free parking in nearby streets.
