Free to members and prospective members, £6 supplement for attendees from Meetup

We will be walking from Chorleywood to Amersham for the Amersham Heritage Day. The walk will include wonderful country views, we will be visiting the pretty Chilterns village of Chalfont St Giles and seeing deer, rabbits and squirrels along the way. The route uses footpaths, bridleways, country lanes and will be about 8 miles. There are no major climbs. Suitable footwear will be required, but going should not be too muddy given recent dry weather. During the course of the day, we will have the opportunity to see the 1938 stock heritage tube train which is running back and forth to Amersham during the day. A free heritage bus service is operating from Amersham on the Hill, where the station is, to Old Amersham, where the festival is taking place. For the Heritage Festival, the Old Town will be filled with classic cars, steam engines, live entertainment, farmers market and music in the Memorial Gardens.

In Amersham there are many wonderful old pubs for lunch and tea shops for afternoon tea. Or bring your own food if you prefer.

Metropolitan line train. Or free car parking available on Chorleywood Common which is a short walk from Chorleywood station.
