Activity

We are offering a weekend Bronze NNAS award navigation course in the Thames Valley. This two day course in lovely terrain near historic Marlow will enable to you begin your journey to becoming an experienced navigator. Start by understanding how to orientate the map using features, we will move on to timings and compass work. You will build your skills throughout the training, learning to use strategies to plan legs of your route. The course will cover some work with contours, route planning and grid references. The course will be a mix of classroom and field work. It is aimed at all levels as we cover all aspects of navigation from first principles. We will be based near Marlow, Buckinghamshire. Your tutor is a highly experienced mountain leader and qualified teacher. Award certificates will be arranged for all those completing the course.

Please bring packed lunch to venue. Tea and coffee at venue.

Travel

GWR railway to Marlow from Paddington. Venue is 1.8 miles from station. Lifts available to and from venue from station if arranged in advance. Free parking at venue.
