Activity

A 30-mile circular walk with a few gradients. Starting from Watford, we walk through Cassiobury Park and along the Grand Union Canal, past the Rickmansworth lakes, before heading west to Chalfont St Peter. We then follow the Misbourne river to Chalfont St Giles, then head across to Coleshill and down to Amersham. From there, we head through Chesham Bois to the Chess valley, which we follow through Latimer to Sarratt Bottom. From there, we head east to Chandlers Cross, before heading south and then east, back to the Grand Union Canal and Cassiobury Park, and then to Watford Station. Possibility to do part of the route - the walk passes fairly close (around 0.5 miles) to Amersham Station (after 18.5 miles), also close (around 1 mile) to Chesham Station (after 20.5 miles), or close (around 1.5 miles) to Chalfont and Latimer Station (after 23 miles).

Refreshments

Bring packed lunch and plenty to drink. Afternoon pub stop after 25.5 miles.

By train: Metropolitan line to Watford (NOT Watford Junction). By car: 8 miles from central Harrow. Free on-street parking.
