11 mile linear walk along the beautiful river Lea. There's plenty to see including riverboats, locks and weirs. Time allowing we may have a chance to explore the Amwell Quarry Nature Reserve as well as Stanstead Abbotts. We will be crossing the Greenwich Meridian twice although there are no indicators of this. The path is decent however good walking shoes are recommended particularly after rainy weather. There are parts of the walk that are quite close to the M25 and the end point in the historic town of Waltham Cross. Come and enjoy a day out in the lovely spring weather.
There are some pubs along the way to replenish our thirst but it is recommended to bring drinks and lunch. Lunch will be available at the Fish and Eels Public House which dates back to the 1800's. Another possible stop for tea is Crown pub.
