Activities

Staying at new campsite on a working farm in an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' in East Sussex. It is in 1066 country which boasts a huge amount of historic buildings and lush gardens as well as picturesque beaches and beautiful rolling countryside. Site allows campfires and has new shower block plus a large camp kitchen with fridges and facilities. Step outside your tent and enjoy the footpaths taking you in many directions, some of which can end at superb country pubs, there are two pubs in Pett village just a mile away. A short stroll away is Guestling Wood which belongs to the Woodland Trust.
On Saturday we plan a 10 mile walk direct from the site. We will walk to Pett Level Beach where people can swim or search for fossils on the cliffs. Then we will follow the coastal footpath to Winchelsea Beach where we can have a picnic on the beach (plus pub option). We will then walk back to Winchelsea itself, a remarkably unspoilt village with impressive medieval church, art gallery, pubs and tea shops. There is a famous grave to visit before we catch the coastal bus back towards the campsite.
On Sunday we plan a 5 mile coastal walk through Hastings Country Park to Hastings. The Country Park offers one of the United Kingdom's most exhilarating clifftop panoramas together with a host of unique and rare wildlife species. We can explore the winding twittens of the old town (location for most of Foyles War); the castle on the cliffs; the famous fishing huts and the funicular railway. Lots of pubs and tea rooms in the old town.
Also option to hire bikes to cycle the coastal cycle way from Hastings to Bexhill; and canoeing at Camber Sands. For those new to camping, we have spare tents and stoves etc. to lend out to people booking. There is also the glamping option as detailed on the campsite website.

Refreshments

Self-catering on site. Pub 10 minutes walk from site. Lots of pubs and tea shops on walks. We plan a barbecue on Saturday.
